Good day. If you add the following css to the skin img preview it really makes the image pop:

image-rendering: pixelated;

I've actually thought of the same thing and came to the same solution.
This project is using a python ui framework instead of standard html/css/js, but I think I figured out how to do it in the framework.

The pr is in #2. With limited testing, everything seems to be working.
